Hoorray its half term! A good week so far with 3 points and a result against Kidderminster!

Although we have not got any students in this week there is plenty to do. Plans are progressing with a potential move to down to the south stand adjacent to the players gym.

Sorting out ICT issues is something that takes time but thankfully Eddie has managed to get things sorted and fixed so we should be ok as long as people dont break them!!!

Right I better tidy the cupboard which will soon be renamed the tardis!

Its been a fairly busy week for a change. Setanta arrived today to set up for Thursdays game against Oxford so hopefully like in previous years we will have the opportunity to visit their broadcast truck with our group from Bar Hill on thursday afternoon.

This afternoon we have the class from Ridgefield in. We intend to complete our ground tour with a trip to the changing rooms and board room and to begin the creation of our photostory 3 presentations. On Friday myself and Stuart Jacobs are out at Crystal Palace on a mentoring accreditation course, and on Monday with a trip to the Emirates Stadium for a meeting about double club which the centre has successfully gained funding for with the pilot due to begin in the summer term.

A couple of quick get well soon messages firstly to Celia my boss who has damaged the ligaments in her ankle and secondly to Brian Burch our minibus driver who is in hospital.

With Helen my assistant being out today on a first aid course the desk is a mess which I must now tidy up will bring you more information next week!

A new week!

Last week was a busy week. Finally Helen completed the noticeboard in the centre on what players like to read which has proved very popular not just with the students but also with the players.
The PFS sessions have played a particular focus on Poetry utilising some of the ideas gained from Durham.

On Thursday we hosted Hartford Pupil Referral Unit at the centre, the students recieved a ground tour and some coaching which they all enjoyed. The students behaviour was a real credit throughout the day and they will hopefully return for a game in the future.

In the evening we hosted the second graduation evening with students attending from Fulbourn, Burwell and St Albans primary school. We had guests from Cambridge University Press who also provided us with a bag of books for each of the schools. I very much hope this is the start of a strong relationship between ourselves and the CUP in the future.

On a friday I attended the BETT show in London, an educational technology show at Olympia. This was my first trip to BETT and I was surprised at how big it was.

On the Pitch I will not mention Wednesdays game! but will mention Saturdays excellent 4-1at home to Woking everyone knows the League is far more important anyway!

This week we host the Cambridge PRU on thursday for a ground tour, some classroom activities and coaching.

Hello and welcome to the first Cambridge United Learning Centre blog! Following some ideas at the recent centre managers conference in Durham I have decided to have a go at creating my own so apologies in advance if it takes me a while.

This week sees the first Playing for Success groups of 2009 a visit from a Hartford PR unit and the graduation for students who joined us at the club last half term.
